Belarus President makes new appointments in Armed Forces

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has made new appointments in the Armed Forces. The head of state signed the corresponding decrees on 15 January.

    The head of state appointed Colonel Andrei Gurtsevich Head of the General Staff Department – Deputy Head of the Military Academy. He was relieved of the post of the Commander of the Western Operational and Tactical Command of the Air Defense Force of the Belarusian Armed Forces.

    The President appointed Major General Alexander Volfovich Commander of the Northwestern Operational Command of the Armed Forces. He was relieved of the post of the Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Northwestern Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

    Major General Valery Gnilozub was appointed Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Northwestern Operational Command of the Armed Forces. He was relieved of the post of the head of the 72nd guard united training center for warrant officers and junior specialists of the Armed Forces.

    Colonel Igor Korol was appointed head of the 72nd guard united training center for warrant officers and junior specialists of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
