Belarus needs beacon enterprises for other enterprises to measure up to. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement at the state award ceremony on 30 June.

“It is no accident that I draw attention to the performance of enterprises and organizations of the real sector,” stressed the head of state. “They constitute the basis of our entire life, the foundation of social and political stability, they guarantee the successful present and future. Every accomplishment by a specific labor collective represents a contribution to our common prosperity. We should have beacons, live examples for others to measure up to. A number of springs can result in a strong river. It is important for all spheres of public life”.

In accordance with the good tradition state awards are timed to the Independence Day. According to the President, the event was particularly solemn because this year marks the 70th anniversary since the day Belarus was liberated from the Nazi invaders. “I welcome Great Patriotic War veterans with a feeling of gratitude. Orders, medals, and gratitude are a token of high respect for your accomplishments in the name of the Motherland,” stressed the head of state. “We thank you for the Victory, for standing up in the direst time for our land. I bow low for the many years of work that you have put into restoring Belarus. And for the fact that you still take part in the country’s social life. With your example and wise words you teach young Belarusians to never surrender, never retreat before hardships and sincerely love the Fatherland”.

“Today we offer a tribute of respect to those, who make the country stronger by working hard, who make their own contribution to the development of the economy, to the growing prosperity of citizens, and to Belarus’ higher prestige in the world,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko. In recent years close attention has been paid in Belarus to modernization, the development of science-intensive enterprises, and the manufacturing of products that are in demand in Belarus and are competitive on foreign markets. “The enterprises, which representatives have been awarded, are a visible illustration of our accomplishments in this area,” noted the head of state. The number includes OAO Peleng, which has become the CIS leader in creating equipment for the satellite probing of the Earth. Belarus has joined the prestigious list of space powers after successfully launching the Belarus-made satellite, stressed the President. The awardees also include top executives of OAO Agat – Control Systems for their contribution to the creation and assimilation of competitive production process control systems. Products made by the company are known in more than 15 countries across the globe. Personnel of the Design Bureau Radar deserve praise for the development and production of complicated radio location equipment.

Accomplishments of Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant have been duly noted. The company is known far and wide for the unique products that are in demand on the global market. Resource-saving efforts of the enterprise are worth mentioning, too. Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the company constantly raises the effectiveness of financial management, saves as much material resources as possible, positively influencing profit growth.

“All these enterprises make a significant contribution to the development of the economy and to the enhancement of the national security system. Their products are used by the army. The fact is another convincing confirmation that the products are up to date, effective, and reliable,” said the President.

Efforts of the young innovative organization — the Hi-Tech Park Belarus — were also noted. The Hi-Tech Park employs about 15,000 highly qualified specialists. The Hi-Tech Park is a recognized participant of the international market of software products and is becoming one of the priority innovation segments of the national economy.

Special quality requirements are also presented to enterprises of the light industry, food industry, retail, and the sphere of services. “We already have good progress in a number of enterprises. We are glad to award those, who achieve success in these promising areas,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The head of the logistics company Belmagistralavtotrans represented another important and vigorously developing sphere at the state award ceremony. The head of the enterprise was awarded an honorary title for considerable personal contribution to the development of logistics and international automobile transportation. According to the head of state, close attention in Belarus is paid to the construction of modern motorways and bridges. Their state determines the level of transit services, the development of passenger transportation, and commodity flows. Belarusian motorways determine the image of the country to a large extent.

The company OAO Mostostroy has done a lot in this regard. The head of state praised the reconstruction of the motorway M4 Minsk-Mogilev and the construction of 16 bridges and flyovers along the motorway. The structures were built in a timely manner and are of good quality.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, many cutting-edge agricultural companies have achieved good results in ensuring the food security of the country and in increasing the export of agricultural products. The many years of successful work of the head of the company OAO Veliky Dvor in Stolbtsy District were praised. The company has been declared winner in manufacturing and profitability competitions at district, oblast, and national levels more than once. Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that quality parameters of agriculture are particularly important in present conditions. “We would like all the agricultural workers to strive for that,” he remarked.

Belarusian intellectuals were among the awardees, too. Those are famous composers, directors, writers, ballet and theater artists, whose art enriches the country’s cultural heritage. Medics, pedagogues, scientists, athletes, who selflessly work for the benefit of Belarus and the nation, were thanked.

“May the honorary titles, orders and medals become the visible embodiment of the respect and recognition that you have earned in the eyes of your compatriots,” Aleksandr Lukashenko told the awardees.
