Aleksandr Lukashenko sends greetings to participants of St. Petersburg book salon

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants and guests of the 10th St. Petersburg International Book Salon.

    “Wise words of writers have always carried genuine values, were a benchmark of the spiritual and moral development of the society. Let the year when the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory is celebrated symbolically remind us that literary works should illustrate people’s commitment to peace, promote patriotism and responsibility for the fate of the country among the younger generation,” the message of greetings reads.

    “Spiritual and cultural unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia has always been a true foundation of our cooperation. Commitment to common values gives us an opportunity to reach mutual understanding and accord,” the head of state noted.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko also expressed confidence that Belarus’ participation in the anniversary St. Petersburg book salon as a guest of honor will allow St. Petersburg residents to learn more about the literature of modern Belarus and will help enhance good neighborly relations.
