Dear compatriots,
Distinguished veterans and soldiers of the Belarusian army,
I send my warmest greetings on the occasion of Fatherland Defenders Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
This nationwide holiday is a symbol of profound respect to all generations of Fatherland defenders. It represents a strong connection between the past and the present.
In the year when the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory is celebrated, Fatherland Defender’s Day and the Day of the Armed Forces are especially important. In the holy struggle against the enemy of the mankind Belarusian soldiers demonstrated an example of genuine valor, tenacity, and selfless love for the Homeland.
This is a holiday for those who protected freedom and independence of our Fatherland during the Great Patriotic War, who followed the steps of the generation of victors and do their best to safeguard the country’s stability in present conditions.
Today the Republic of Belarus is an independent sovereign state which ensures peace, stability, and accord. No one should have doubts that the priorities will be the same in the future because the protection of the Fatherland is the issue of nationwide importance, and the Armed Forces are always ready to properly respond to any challenges and threats.
I wish you kindness, happiness, wellbeing, new service and labor achievements for the benefit of our native Belarus!
