Aleksandr Lukashenko extends condolences to family of ice hockey coach Viktor Tikhonov

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Honored Coach of the USSR Viktor Tikhonov after his death.

    “Viktor Vasilyevich made it into the history of our ice hockey as one of the greatest Soviet ice hockey coaches who made the USSR famous as a leading sport country in the world. For many generations the name of Viktor Vasilyevich Tikhonov became a symbol of immense glory and invincibility of Soviet ice hockey players,” the message of condolences reads.

    “We appreciated Viktor Vasilyevich for his wonderful talent and commitment to his profession. His unflagging energy, experience and professionalism helped enhance sports ties between our countries. Blessed memory about Viktor Vasilyevich Tikhonov will always live in our hearts," the President remarked.
