Republican conference on measures to improve construction industry in Belarus

The Belarusian construction industry which is one of the key industries affecting the economic situation should demonstrate a positive dynamics, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave a corresponding instruction at the republican conference on measures to raise the efficiency of the Belarusian construction industry on 23 November.

At the beginning of the event the President said that such conferences with the power vertical will be held regularly, nearly once in six months.

“This is conference is, first of all, oriented on practical results. This was my paramount concern during the preparations for the event,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The President encouraged the participants of the event to discuss and address topical issues in the construction industry in five years after a new legal framework was adopted in the sector. “Back then we analyzed Belarus’ experience, people’s complaints and proposals, determined all drawbacks in certain fields and tried to create a unified and comprehensive legal framework,” the head of state reminded. “We did it to eradicate corruption in the industry once and for all. Citizens, legal entities, real estate developers, contractors and other specialists should be aware of their rights and obligations and act properly.”

“Five years have passed since then. What is the current situation?” the Belarusian leader wondered.

The President said that housing construction issues are always in the center of attention.
