Constitution Day greetings

    Dear compatriots,

I wish you a happy Constitution Day.

Exactly twenty-five years ago the Fundamental Law of our country was passed. It opened a new page in the centuries-long history of the Belarusian nation. This landmark event helped realize the aspiration of many generations of Belarusians to be the owners of their land, to live in a free, just and wealthy society.

The constitution laid a solid foundation of Belarus’ state sovereignty and political order, instituted the guarantees of social rights for citizens, created conditions for the preservation and enrichment of the historical, cultural and spiritual legacy of the nation.

Relying on the ideas and principles of the Fundamental Law, the country is dynamically developing. Cities and villages transform, people’s wellbeing is increasing, the country’s authority on the international arena is enhancing.

I am convinced that our youth, who are now at the beginning of their lives, will make big contribution to the strengthening of the Belarusian state.

I sincerely wish everybody peace, kindness, happiness and new achievements for the benefit of the Fatherland.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko
